UTM Link Builder

UTM parameters tell your analytics tool where a visitor came from. Enter your landing page and campaign details, and the builder returns a correctly encoded link and flags the mistakes that usually split your reports.

Checks

  • Looks good. Consistent, lowercase values keep your reports clean.

How it works

  1. Paste the URL of the page people should land on.

  2. Pick a preset or fill in source, medium and campaign name. Term and content are optional.

  3. Keep “lowercase” switched on so “Newsletter” and “newsletter” are not counted as two sources.

  4. Read the checks, then copy the finished URL into your email, post or ad.

FAQ

Which UTM parameters are required?

In practice you should always set utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign. utm_term and utm_content are optional and useful for keywords or for telling apart several links in the same campaign.

Should UTM values be lowercase?

Yes. Most analytics tools treat values as case-sensitive, so mixing “Email” and “email” creates two separate rows. A simple lowercase rule avoids that.

Do I need UTM tags for Google Ads?

Usually not. Google Ads auto-tagging passes campaign data to Google Analytics automatically. Manual UTMs are mainly for other analytics tools or special setups.

Can I use UTM links on my own website?

No. UTM tags on internal links overwrite the original source of a visit and distort your reports. Use them only on links that point to your site from outside.

Is my data stored?

No. The link is built entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to a server.
